pediatrician in indira nagar bangalore

I always in search of good pediatricians in Bangalore since my elder son has rashes and wheezing. He has born in Kerala and came to Bangalore on his 3rd week. He had difficulties adjusting with the weather here initially. He then adjusted with it . we were looking for options for giving the vaccinations. Like others we also googled for good doctors. we first went to a doctor called sunilkumar in indira nagar. There was a rush in his small clinic. when our turn came we wanted to ask him lot of questions , but he seems to be very busy finishing up the things. we expect a pediatrician to be very polite and soft , but this guy is not good for that. The way he took the injection was very horrible, He couldn't do it properly at the first time and kid was crying like anything. He even has a stock of all the vaccines need to be taken so that he can charge for that also.

My experience with him was so bad and i wouldn't recommend him.

Then again after a lot of search we found another doctor called santhosh kumar, a senor pediatrician in Amarjothi hospital CMH road. The say he cleared our doubts, the way he handles the kid, i am totally impressed . He is against giving much medicines to the kids, always prescribe only the must have medicines. Even the nurses behave well there.. I strongly recommend Dr santhosh kumar of amarjothi jospital for infants and kids.

sagar appollo – thilak nagar

Since I moved from HAL to JP nagar , i wanted to find another good pediatrician in jp nagar area . Still couldn't found one and i am going to amarjyothi hospital only.

once I went to sagar appollo for kids last vaccination, met a doctor there. The first thing I noticed was the attitude on his face. OMG I never want to see such face for a pediatrician.I was wondering why these doctors can be bit polite especially to kids.. He seems to be very busy . When he checked my sons weight , it was 18kgs, he said, that weight is too much for a 3 year old boy.( FYI - My son is very fit and healthy) > he wanted to do some tests and take medicines for obesity. Somehow I finished the vaccination and escaped from there..

My kind advice is NEVER EVER GO TO SAGAR APPOLO HOSPITAL IN THILAK NAGAR TO SEE A PAEDIATRICIAN.

I dont remember that doctors name, I will go there once again to know his name and will put here..

one year in thougtworks

I finished one year in thoughtworks.while looking back , all that I was doing was coding , coding and coding.. hm yes I couldn expiriment of things.. because from my joining date till now, i am working without any rest.. I am working on a highly UI intensive web portal where I am the only one UI dev and around 20 devs. making the mockups ready before the devs start their work was not acutually easy. Most of the time i felt like fumes are coming out from my head, But I could handle everything well.

Here in thoughtworks most of the projects are happening in agile . so while playing the strories , its not page wise, its functinal wise and the integreation of all functionalities which will be played on different time by different devs was bit diifcult initially. Since thoughtworks has something called "pairing" you need to sit with a dev and work with them in the same story. Because of my work load i couldnt do much pairing . And for a person like me who is a designer turned UI dev , pairing would help a lot to know and learn how the backend works . I missed that oppotunity in this project.

One of the best things happened was my client wanted me to come to theie place in boston for the bug fixes and that leads to my first onsite to US. it was for one week and really had a nice time.

The work culture and the team is really good. I am in the third project now under the same client.

I hope i can do and learn more javascript through pairing and looking forward to that.

First day at Thoughtworks

At last the day has come. I have joined today.

Lot of sessions on various things... filling up forms for insurance, bank account,

And the surprise was.. I know I will get a laptop to work, all I prayed was it should have enough RAM , a 4 GB RAM machine. But what I got is a macbook pro.... I cant say how happy i was.. It was my dream to own a macbook pro. Now at least I got the chance to work on it.

since its wednesday , free non veg meal was provided.(other days its free veg meal) , due to late sessions I missed that. Thanks for the "real" juices.. canteen is also filled with biscuits, corn flakes, cool drinks , butter bread etc,

last day in mcafee

Today was my last day in mcafee. I have just finished my formalities, submited the documents to the HR and waiting for the documents. Its been 2 years and 1 month now. Life in mcafee was great. there was no long working hours, no pressure , no tight schedules.. Thanks for all my colleagues for the support.

I always think , if FireFox is not there, how do I test my pages . FireFox has lot of addon’s which literally saves a UI developers life. I’ll mention here some of the best add-ons for FireFox.

Web Developer Tool

The Web Developer extension adds a menu and a toolbar to the browser with various web developer tools.some features I always use are edit css, add external style sheet , resize browser window etc.
Firebug

Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page
Css Viewer

This cool tool will show you the CSS properties on mosueover of the element.
JS View

This add-on will show you the external js and css files which are linked to the page.
Lola

This tool helps to edit the contents on the fly.. while working on the pages with localized contents, we want to make sure that the extra text will not affect the page’s layout. By just one click lola helps to add text directly from the browser.
Yslow

YSlow analyzes web pages and tells you why they're slow based on Yahoo's rules for high performance web sites.
Measure IT

There are times when I wanted to measure the gap between 2 divs from the browser , measure the height of the navigation tab etc, This great tool works like a scale which we can measure on screen.
IE Tab

You can view the webpage as in IE with this IE tab add-on. A new tab will open in the FireFox which uses an IE rendering engine.

There are lot of other good tools which I will update later. The tools given above are more than enough for an easier web Ui development.

Hotmail inbox usability

There is no doubt that the new live inbox looks really cool and gives lot of good features. but there are some areas which I feel it lacks usability.
Shown below is the hotmail manage folder page where you can create new folders. When I use it for the first time, I couldn't easily find where the create new folder button is .They could give it as a button rather than showing it as just a link on the top.

it will be more usable if they give a create foler or save folder button below the input box.

This helps you to see the complete DOM structure and the css styles applied. You can even edit the CSS styles locally.

I went through the website and found it interesting. when I googled Thoughtworks.. I got to see log of Thoughtworker blogs… interestinggggg…..
I asked some of my friends.. they said the company is great , but its not easy to get in there.. interview will be too tough…
hmm I thought I will give a try…

Next day got his call again… I said am interested…
First interview scheduled..
when I entered Thoughtworks office, the first thing I noticed was , i didn't see any cubicles there… wow..I feel like everybody working on the dining table..liked it… chk out this pic

its was easy for me.around one hour tech talk..
second round was code test… hmmm done that well
third round was meeting the manager…

Interview was scheduled at the lunch time..hmm there comes a handsome dude.. a foreigner , the first thing he asked was whether I had my lunch…. when I said No.. he said “first lets have our lunch together then we will start ”.. I thought I had to pay , I forgot to take my purse that day.. Then I came to know about another cool feature of Thoughtworks… Free lunch.. wow.. the lunch was awesome.. After lunch we went to the conference room for further talk..
And there happened the bad thing… The post I was called for was a UI developer , but the questions asked were different, ….
THAT WAS A MISTAKE..The requirement was bit different and I am not suitable for that post..

I felt bad… Days passed.. I forgot about Thoughtworks…concentrated more on my works in Mcafee..
Its new year January is almost over… everybody was waiting to start the focal reviews and appraisals…
Again I got a call from Thoughtworks
”naveen I am V…. from Thoughtworks.. I just want to ask you something.. you have attended some rounds with Thoughtworks right. I just want to know are you still available”
”yes”
great… Can you visit our office sometimes this week , we have an opening for you if you are interested , i will arranged for an interview..
yes am interested.

2 more rounds… I got though all the rounds…and finally I got my offer letter today…

I AM SO EXCITED TO BE A PART OF THOUGHTWORKS BANGALORE
